Located on the world-famous Champs Élysées—just a few steps from the Arc de Triomphe—McKinsey’s Paris office plays an important role in major public and private sector transformation programs, as well as in the education area. We have a series of civic activities designed to help the community, including hosting handicapped people during a day of activities.
Our social life revolves around our all-office lunches, where our office manager brings everyone up to date on the firm’s state of affairs and an alumnus comes to speak. And of course, the meal features splendid foods. Approximately every other month, we have breakfasts where we meet informally over croissants and tea. Every year, we have a Christmas party with music, dancing, good food, and fine wine. Our prized football team competes regularly against other firms (training is every Saturday).
On Office Day, which we hold every year in one of Paris’ prime venues, we talk about the direction of the firm, as well as fun quizzes and discussions from each of our practice leaders. On our most recent office retreat, we spent 3 days in a sunny resort at the seaside in Cadiz, Spain. We had a featured speaker as well as a mix of team building activities, free time, and fun parties.
