The Moscow office is a diverse group of people with experience that ranges from business and government service to medicine and physics. As well as being top students in their schools, the people in the office have a wide range of outside interests, which include Chinese studies, photography, martial arts, fishing, classical music, and rowing.

All of our consultants in the office speak Russian. The pace of life is as fast as the business environment in Moscow itself, though we make time each Friday for beer and snacks on the roof (even during some of those Russian winters!) to catch up with each other and take in the spectacular views of the city.

During many of our retreats we take the opportunity to meet and form friendships with our colleagues in McKinsey’s Eastern European offices: Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Warsaw, and Zagreb. We went sailing off the coast of Croatia—where many of us got our sailing licenses—and have explored the ancient ruins in Crete.
