Located in the tallest building in Latin America, McKinsey’s Mexico City office offers a breathtaking view of the city. We like to think of ourselves as a social office. Every Friday, we have “Social Fridays” after work where we can play dominoes and table soccer over drinks at a local bar or restaurant. At our office lunches, we often have external speakers come to talk about topics relevant to the office.
Each year, there’s a Christmas party with dinner for all office members and significant others at an attractive location, with music, games, and raffles. A few of us have banded together to form a runner’s group to train for marathons and compete in local races. But our most popular sport is football. Consultants organize tournaments at least twice a year, plus at the retreat.
Our retreats are a time to take a step back and see where we’ve been and what we want to achieve in the coming year. But it’s also a time for fun. We’ve been to Ixtapa and Puerto Vallarta. Most recently we all spent time together in Acapulco.
