As might be expected from a location at a major port, the Hamburg office has a long sailing tradition. Every rookie who joins the office can learn how to sail. Sailing is our most popular extracurricular activity, and we go regularly to regattas. Not surprisingly, our annual summer festival takes place on the waters as well.
Established in 1977, the Hamburg office is one of the older ones in the German complex. The city is home to some of the world’s most influential civil aerospace, media, and international trading companies. The Hamburg office is credited with taking the lead in co-founding “Startsocial,” a nationwide competition of volunteer projects and initiatives where we provide consulting and other assistance.
As part of the German office complex, we are involved in several nationwide efforts such as pro bono work for orchestras and museums as well as for health care foundations and hospitals. We established “McKinsey bildet” to help reform and improve Germany’s education system.
