The Frankfurt office was established in 1978 to serve the burgeoning banking sector. Since then, we’ve grown to being a hub for business technology as well as serving numerous other sectors.
Our office is also the home base of Asia House, a new, distinctive element of McKinsey's client service providing advice and support bridging Asian opportunities and European transformation. We support the arts by displaying contemporary works of local artists in our offices. Our B4Ugo Bar is a regular get-together for our consultants to catch up and share a few drinks. Nicknamed “Mainhattan” (Frankfurt is on the Main River), the city’s urban skyline is one of the most recognizable ones in Europe.
As part of the German office complex, we are involved in several nationwide efforts such as pro bono work for orchestras and museums, as well as for health care foundations and hospitals. We established “McKinsey bildet” to help reform and improve Germany’s education system. McKinsey also co-founded “Startsocial,” a nationwide competition of volunteer projects and initiatives where we provide consulting and other assistance.
