The fastest growing city in Canada, Calgary is situated in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and has great year-round outdoor activities, night life, and shopping—Alberta is the only province without a provincial sales tax.

We are one of the firm’s smallest global offices, but enjoy a strong local culture that makes the office feel like a family. Each Friday we have lunch together. We have a December dinner dance, ski day, and, as might be expected for this city, a “Stampede” party (the Calgary Stampede is known as the “greatest outdoor show on earth”). We also enjoy chamber music, opera, and ballet at Calgary Philharmonic.

With the other offices in Canada—Montreal and Toronto—Calgary consultants recently enjoyed a 4-day “Refresh, Re-energize, and Reconnect” retreat. The theme was “Canada in the future” and featured discussions on a wide variety of topics, including Canada-U.S. relations, risks/opportunities of environmental change, and the future of universal health care. We also enjoyed a few activities many consider typical to our country: dog sledding, skiing, curling, and snowmobiling.
