What We Look For

  • Research Vocation. Great analysts truly enjoy research, feel energized by asking questions and finding answers, and are curious about events and issues in the business world. They are creative, adept at looking at problems from new angles, and enjoy finding the pieces of the puzzle that will enable its resolution.

  • Problem Solving. Our analysts provide vital support that enhances consulting teams’ abilities to solve tough business problems for clients. Hence we look for people who possess not just great intellect, analytical horsepower, good numeracy, and attention to detail, but who also are flexible in their approach to tasks. We need to be able to work within tight deadlines to provide practical solutions to challenging questions.

  • Personal Impact. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills significantly enhance the value of our problem solving and vocation for research. Our group is extremely diverse, we work in teams, and we communicate intensively not just with Firm members across the globe but also with external experts, so personal impact can be a major determinant of your success here.

  • Achievement. We have high expectations for continual professional growth, advancement and a distinctive contribution. We therefore seek people who enjoy taking on and overcoming challenges, have the courage of their convictions, and always display the determination to produce work of exceptional quality.

  • Business Sense. Our work involves research on a myriad of business issues. So, although we do not require a degree in business (indeed, we greatly value the diverse educational backgrounds of our team), we do like to see good general knowledge of the corporate environment—at least to the level of a well informed reader of the business press.

We believe that the most successful analysts are well-rounded individuals. These are people with a good mix of the above intrinsic skills and interests, able to bring a sense of energy and enterprise, as well as fun, to our Center and to consulting teams.
