The period immediately following World War II ushered in an era of internationalism. Bolstered by the emergence of a more highly integrated world economy, we established our first international office in London in 1959. And when a South American oil company engaged us to assess its global operations, we seized the opportunity to test our "one firm" approach in the laboratory of the world.

In the U.S. and abroad, we acquired a robust portfolio of new blue-chip clients, including major government and military organizations, top conglomerates, and several key defense contractors. Our White House staffing study for President Eisenhower instituted a set of administrative procedures that remain in force today.

The 1950s also marked the debut of our nonprofit efforts. The American Red Cross was among our first nonprofit clients.
