The EspeRare foundation

EspeRare foundationThe EspeRare foundation collaborates with patient groups and other key stakeholders to address the translational gap in pediatric rare disease therapeutic interventions by uncovering the potential of existing molecules to tackle unmet severe therapeutic needs. As a non-profit organization, EspeRare achieves this through a collaborative approach centered on patient engagement, with the aim of giving people universal access to these new medicines. McKinsey supported EspeRare to think through its business model by defining its innovative value proposition and growth priorities. This will help the foundation to enhance the delivery of its highly distinctive approach and maximize its impact for patients. McKinsey also supported EspeRare by developing a methodology to assess its qualitative and quantitative public health impact.

Advance Women in Swiss BusinessBookbridge is a social enterprise that strives for worldwide balanced access to education, regardless of religious, ethnical, or geographic origin. By setting up learning centers in rural areas of developing countries, Bookbridge achieves social impact on both sides of the “bridge.” These learning centers bring quality education to people in need, and at the same, time serve as real life case studies for the Capability Program, a transforming leadership experience for emerging leaders to learn project planning, working with multiple stakeholders, and leading diverse teams in different cultural contexts.

As part of a longstanding partnership with Ashoka, McKinsey supports Bookbridge in building new learning centers and further scaling-up its successful Capability Program. This will allow even more people to benefit from high quality education, with opportunities to grow as leaders.
