McKinsey’s Aerospace & Defense consultants serve clients around the world in every major segment of the industry including aircraft OEMs (commercial, business, commuter, cargo and military), helicopters, defense primes and contractors (including defense electronics and avionics), satellites and space transportation as well as aerospace suppliers, aviation services and related businesses. We also have worked closely with major ministries of defense worldwide.

We have deep functional expertise in nearly every aspect of the aerospace and defense value chain, including product development, design-for-cost, practical manufacturing design, strategic sourcing, purchasing, supply chain management, lean manufacturing and maintenance among others. In addition, we invest in critical research that provides us with unique insights into and perspectives on industry trends, such as how new technologies will impact the industry.

Our people

Our consultants combine professional experience in aerospace, engineering, and related disciplines with a broad understanding of business management. Many of our consultants have also worked in management positions in leading industry companies or served in the military prior to joining McKinsey.
