Typically, successful consultants who join McKinsey early in their careers can expect election to partner within five to seven years, but some have been elected in as few as four years, and some have taken as many as nine.
People with substantial prior professional experience may, in rare instances, join our firm as partners. There is no limit to the size of our partnership.
